Why would I need a direct contact on the island? I have travelled before without one and navigated just fine!

Of course in the cities such as Ponta Delgada and Ribeira Grande, you will find that most people have the ability to speak with you in English. Outside of the major cities, not only are English speaking natives rare, most parishes have completely different dialects and slangs from one another, making it challenging for even some of the locals!

Can’t I just book restaurants on my own when I arrive?

Absolutely! But during peak season, perhaps you won’t get a table when you want it. Perhaps you won’t be able to find the hidden gems offering incredible food, or ones that can truly accommodate your dietary restrictions. It’s important to note too that not every restaurant has a website, a Facebook page or any way for you to know they even exist! We are well versed in the culinary scene on São Miguel and take great pride in our list of choices for each of our clients. Your itinerary package will also include menus in advance, so we can answer questions for you before you arrive and we will translate them if they are in Portuguese. Plus if you are running late or get lost, we are here to contact the restaurants for you to ensure your table is saved!

There is so much travel planning available on Google and influencer blogs, why can’t I just plan using these free resources?

You absolutely can! The problem is, do they tell you about the weather to expect? What happens when things get cancelled the morning of? Don’t spend your day scrambling to find things to do when roads wash out or we get sudden downpours when the forecast says partly cloudy and sunny; we will always have a back up for you in these events, which happen more often than most people would admit!
